why I do this……..

Hey, Y’all …Welcome to my Blog!  As you might have guessed, I’m a Southern gal, and as the saying goes – I’m as southern as sweet tea – and I wouldn’t have it any other way.  I live on a farm in the great state of Tennessee with my husband, my dog, 3 horses, and 3 hunting dogs.  Making it all the more perfect – our son and daughter-in-law, our two granddaughters, and our daughter and her dog live within shouting distance of us…life is good.

Also, there are about 100 wild turkey that roam our yard and scatter our mulch every day (twice a day to be exact – thank you, Game and Fish) … and some real undesirables – like armadillos and fire ants – this list is long, but these two are the worst of them … country living is great, but it has it’s pitfalls.

I have many interests, but I have very recently focused on writing and painting.   I have a truck load of stories that I’ve been saving for years thinking someday my collection might be a memoir, but that thought wasn’t getting any traction.

Very recently on a girl retreat with my cousin, Ginger, and two friends, Nancy and Kim … as women tend to do… we shared a lot of stories.  Now, I have to admit we may have been having a little too much fun, but as the night wore on the three of them said they liked my stories, and encouraged me to start a blog.  I was gung-ho on this idea …again, maybe a little too much fun… but, this is how my blog began.  Much love to my team of encouragers for their input, great ideas, and support!

My stories run the gamut, from childhood to present day – I have a very adventuresome husband, who by the way has taken me out of my comfort zone more times than I count, who is also a hunter …. so, there are the hunter’s wife stories, and we travel quite a bit with and without our horses so, there are my travel and adventure stories, then there are my childhood and teen year stories about all the craziness kids get into, and of course, because I’m a mom and grandmother, I have tales to tell about my kids and grandkids……

I’m just an ordinary person who enjoys writing and telling stories about my kooky and comical experiences, hoping to bring a smile or maybe even a bit of laughter in a time when we all could use a little levity; so please, sit a spell and let me tell you some stories.

Thank you for dropping by –  I hope you’ll come again to read more of my wacky tales.
